Classes & Workshops
At A Walk in the Park we aim to provide a fun training environment for all our group classes, 1:1 sessions and our targeted workshops.
Group classes & workshops will run with a maximum of 10 spaces with the exception of Uptown Dogs which will be a maximum of 8 spaces.
Puppy Foundation
8 Week Puppy Foundation course for pups up to 8 months including:
- General responsibility, care, cleanliness & identification.
- Name Recognition
- Positions: Sit, stand & down
- Responsible play with young puppies
- Socialisation with other dogs & people in a safe and controlled manner
- Settle
- Short stay & puppy recall
- Release an unsuitable item
- Basic food manners
Training incorporated various fun games and exercises to help your pup gain confidence, strengthen the bond between you & build strong foundations for a happy life together.
8 week puppy course - £96
Runs on Wednesday evenings 18.15 - 18.45

Stage 2 Classes
Classes working towards Bronze Good Citizen Awards including:
- Close handling, grooming & equipment
- Lead walking with added distractions
- Doorway manners - introduction to great manners upon entrance & exit
- Great response recall
- Safety on pavements
- Play - release to retrieve
- Send away & settle
- Stay in position, in place for at least 1 minute
- Food manners - moving on
- Socialisation with people & dogs in a controlled manner
- Fun games for confidence building
The stage 2 classes provide preparation for taking the KC Good Citizens Bronze award along with an introduction to some Silver Award exercises.
Stage 2 - Bookings in 6 week blocks - £108
Discount of 15% on subsequent block bookings.
Multiple dogs + Loyalty Members (1 year or more) 6 week blocks - £84
Runs on Wednesday evenings 18.55 - 19.40

Stage 3 Classes
Classes working towards Silver & Gold Good Citizen Awards including:
- Advanced food manners
- Longer stay in position at distance
- Vehicle control (no not teaching them to drive)
- Send away from greater distance
- Heelwork placement for stairs & tight spaces
- Off lead heelwork
- Recall away from distractions
- Full retrieve & finishes
- Emergency STOP, all 3 positions
- Distance control
The stage 3 classes work on KC Good Citizen Silver & Gold exercises and so much more besides.
Stage 3 - Bookings in 6 week blocks - £144.

Diamond & Platinum Club Awards
Going beyond Kennel Club Gold, these 2 club awards will provide further fun training for you and your dog:
Diamond Award:
A More advanced course for those wishing to push the boundaries and really testing your dogs knowledge of learned behaviours.
Platinum Award:
An extreme course which will test you as a handler , push your dogs knowledge to way beyond your expectations. This course will ultimately help you become a much better handler with a deeper understanding of how your dog thinks and what they need from you to help them succeed with given tasks.

Workshop designed for you and your senior four legged friend to still have a little fun

Uptown Dogs
A 1 hour workshop - Allow your dog to experience the sights, sounds and smells of a city environment in a fun yet safe and controlled manner.
Meeting in the centre of Chelmsford, I will take you and your dog on a 60 minute interactive journey through the hustle and bustle of a busy city. There's much fun and learning to be had on our interesting route. And, if the mood takes us, we may have a social and bite to eat afterwards.
Uptown Dogs - £10 for 1 hour workshop.

1:1 Sessions in your own home designed to work on your specific training needs
- Puppy sessions - £30 for 30 minutes
- Puppy 8 months + £50 for 60 minutes. 6 Week blocks - get the 6th at HALF PRICE - £275
Emotional Support Training
1:1 Sessions tailored to meet your specific needs.
60 minute sessions - £65

Pawsable - Assistance Dog Trainer
These sessions are tailored to your individual needs. I am able to work through specific behaviours to meet certain criteria requested by your chosen organisation and assist you with filming in various situations and locations,

Class Suitability Assessments
Whether new to A Walk in the Park Dog Training Club and are wanting to join one of class sessions or you have recently adopted / fostered a rescue dog and want to come to classes, we recommend booking an assessment to make sure you join the right class to maximise your training and have plenty of fun.
