I am a dog trainer in Essex, passionate about helping people to train their dogs for a happy life together.

I grew up with Collies, the first was a gorgeous Sheltie who lived to the age of 18. I am currently owned by a Border Collie called Moss, who I chose at 3.5 weeks and collected from a reputable KC breeder at 8.5 weeks. We started training together as soon as we got home and I was able to teach him good manners and a great many fun tricks. Diagnosed with epilepsy at the age of 4, which we have been able to control with minimal medication, he is still loving life at nearly 15 years old.

We enjoy walking the high fells of the Lake District, but not so much now, and working closely on new tricks. Our favourite pastime is SUP. We absolutely love being on the water together on the paddle board, just enjoying the ride.

I started volunteering at a local KC club around 10 years ago, helping with registrations initially. Then I started teaching classes, which I did for around 4 years, before taking over completely with a friend for a short while, finally taking sole responsibility for the running of the obedience side of the club, giving freely of my time and experience.

I coach handlers with their dogs through the Kennel Club Good Citizens Awards scheme from Puppy Foundation through to the Gold award and so much more besides. I help handlers and dogs with struggles and enjoy teaching handlers to train their own dogs as assistance dogs too.

My methods use positive reinforcement and rewards, bringing the fun element into every training session. If you’re having fun, your pup is having fun too and learning is relaxed and enjoyable.
